Jesmond Life

Mansons Social Rebecca Jackson 10th November 2016

Jesmond without a doubt is one of the most popular areas to live in Newcastle, whether you’re a student or looking for a luxury property Jesmond is the place to be, with a mixture of both student lettings and affluent residential areas.

Considered one of the most culturally vibrant and eclectic areas in Newcastle upon Tyne, there are plenty of reasons why many desire to live in the heart of Jesmond.

Home to Osborne road you are never short of a good beverage and a social gathering, with Jar Jam serving the best burgers, Osbornes dishing out it’s favourite ales and not to mention £2 Tuesdays at Bar Blanc. It’s student heaven especially with Scalini’s and Cal’s Own nearby, although it might seem a road just for student shenanigans, Waitrose and Jules B are also just down the road for the more indulgent customers.

Jesmond also has to offer lots more attractions, other than shopping and bars of course, such as Jesmond cricket club, Jesmond tennis club and the beautiful Jesmond Dene. Jesmond Dene is also a great activity to do with the kids, home to pets corner, it is a bit of countryside in the city, a big vale full of parks and paths, it’s a great escape from the bustling city.

Jesmond has a close knit community vibe, linked to the region’s Metro it is so easy to access the centre, getting the buzz of city life without the bustle. Jesmond has a modern vibe but is rich with history, and there are many things to discover about the area, here are ten interesting facts about the area from the Chronicle:
