Spring has finally sprung! If you’re a student in Newcastle, these next few months are going to be busy, but you do deserve to relax now and again. Take a look at our top three places for students to visit this Spring.
Proven Goods Hoults Yard
If you like doughnuts, then you’ll love Proven Goods! They are Tyneside based doughnut makers, who opened their Hoults Yard shop last August and have since generated a large cult following. All of their doughnuts are made fresh every morning. Each small batch is proven three times for a total of seventeen hours using organic fresh yeast and cold proving techniques for the best flavour. Their doughnut ‘The Homer’, is fast becoming a firm favourite, any The Simpsons fan will automatically know what this doughnut looks like. What’s not to love?
Tynemouth Market is certainly a firm favourite in Tyneside and rightly so, with a large selection of stalls ranging from vintage clothing, records and delicious food. Visitors come from far and wide, which is easy to do as the market is located inside Tynemouth Metro Station. Don’t worry if those April showers are playing up, both platforms are sheltered. The market is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3.30pm.
Battle of the Burger at Wylam Brewery
Every burger lover’s dream is coming back to Wylam Brewery for the fifth year! Popular burger restaurants such as Lola Jeans, Parm-o-Rama and Little Red Truck will be serving up their best burgers. This year there will be a huge boast of Vegan food and as the event is at the amazing Wylam Brewery, there will be beer and music aplenty! Food will be served until 10pm and the afterparty will be held at MSA. Get yourself down to Wylam Brewery on the 19thand 20thof April from 12 middayfor plenty of beers, burgers and good times.
