After recent UK Government announcements affecting activities relating to buying and letting property; Mansons has finalised our COVID-19 Health and Safety Policy and have introduced virtual services to help shield staff and customers.
Our virtual services can now be used as a first step in getting your property on the market and we’re sharing our tips for preparing for a Virtual Viewing of your home.
Open up your space
Obviously if we all had our way, it’d be 23 degrees and blue skies all of the time; sadly in the UK at least, that’s not the case. No one wants to view a dark looking home, we would recommend making sure it appears bright and airy; with curtains and blinds fully drawn and any lights and lamps turned on.
Spring clean
This might sound obvious but making sure that all the surfaces are clear of clutter and wiped down will set a good tone for your virtual house viewing.
You want every inch of your home to appear squeaky clean, as you would for a physical viewing.
Clearing away toys and making sure there aren’t any shoes lying around will mean you avoid tripping up and the prospective buyer can appreciate the amount of space your home has to offer. They will be viewing your property looking for a fresh start, clutter and children’s toys could be off-putting.
Fresh up the garden
You might not consider yourself green-fingered but sprucing up the garden in preparation for a house viewing (of any kind) doesn’t need to take all day. Make sure the grass is cut and edges neat and if you do have any potted plants they’re well watered. Power washing the patio, weeding and trimming hedges will go a long way to make your garden look it’s best. If you have any outdoor furniture, make sure it’s clean and well-staged – you want your viewer to see the potential of your property!
